If Earth is a mother then oceans are the sons protecting her. Existing in their own rights, ocean less Earth would be dull and half dead. The solace that one gets seeing the sunset on a beach, the songs that are sung by the waves when one wants to calm down, the mysterious marine life that still drives explorers to spend their lives on, nothing would ever be there. The perfect balance on Earth would not be there. Human life would be more and more mechanical. Earth without oceans is unthinkable.
