Dada JP Vaswani

A scientist, a visionary, a well-read scholar, an educationist, widely referred to as a living saint, Dada JP Vaswani, the current spiritual head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission was born on August 2, 1918, in a pious Sindhi family in Sindh, Pakistan. Dada’s inclination to pursue a life of spirituality led him to forgo a promising academic career and follow the footsteps of his master, also his uncle, Sadhu TL Vaswani.

Spearheading the Mission, a non-sectarian, social welfare institution, Dada has relentlessly spread his master’s message of love, compassion, simplicity and service through his own example. Furthering one of the tenets of ‘reverence for all,’ Dada enlisted globally, November 25, Sadhu Vaswani’s birthday, as the International Meatless Day.

Dada’s birthday, August 2, is celebrated as Global Forgiveness Day with 2 pm designated as the Moment of Calm—a time to forgive and seek forgiveness.

Having authored over 150 books, Dada expounds the philosophy of universal brotherhood and love. Approaching the age of 100, Dada’s spirit remains ever-youthful, fresh and radiant, as he carries the flame of peace, love and compassion around the globe.
