move cautiously

Move cautiously

"It should not be that I should go on explaining my intentions and purpose of my deeds. One's actions should speak for themselves." - Dadi Janki

Almost everyone has the same ambition in his/her life and ironically, their dilemma also happens to be the same. We all wish to be loved and liked by all the people around us but, at the same time, we all find that people do not respond in the desired manner to our gestures. We are not respected and regarded as much as we think we deserve to be. What has gone wrong? Where have I faltered?

Perhaps, nothing has gone wrong and I have not faltered as well. But, perhaps, I have not moved cautiously in the desired direction. Let me ask myself just these three small questions and that will assess my progress. Have I been serviceable to the society around me? Have I worked for their well-being and upliftment without any personal, selfish and vested interests?

In fact, the spiritual leaders around the world wish the people to have these virtues in their conduct so that they can attain peace and contentment for the rest of their life.

Has my behavior been really sensible? In other words, am I careful about others’ freedom and right to privacy? Have I ever trespassed their hospitality and expectation or given them enough space to express their independent views? And lastly am I really incenseful? This means, are my actions loud enough about my humanity, decency, cordiality, tolerance etc? It should not be that I should go on explaining my intentions and purpose of my deeds. One’s actions should speak for themselves.

In fact, the spiritual leaders around the world wish the people to have these virtues in their conduct so that they can attain peace and contentment for the rest of their life. Not only that, they would then be assured of a comfortable existence in the coming future lives as well. Unfortunately, in the mad race for material comforts, we keep drifting into the deep marshes of pain, suffering and desperation.
