If you wish to love every moment of your life, stay connected! Stay connected to God; connect with other people, your fellow human beings; stay connected to your inner self, stay connected to the wonderful world of nature!
Staying connected with people means moving out of yourself to give to others – give of your time, efforts and smiles! You are not an independent, autonomous entity without roots and links. You and others are parts of God’s Creation, parts of each other.
Above all stay connected with God – and you will never, ever feel alone, unloved and unwanted, ever again! God is our true friend, our guardian and our guide. Let us always seek His help, before turning to worldly sources for support.
Stay connected with nature – or you will lose out on beautiful moments of joy and serenity. Go out into the fresh air and the wide open spaces. Feeling the warm sunshine, feeling the whiff of the fresh rain falling on the parched earth, receiving the gentle touch of the fresh breeze on your face can add lustre to your life.
Over the years, there is one way I have discovered to connect with the Divine, and I believe it has really drawn me closer to the Lord. It is to sit in silence, in the calm and quiet stillness of the night, before you retire to bed, and go over all the events of the last twelve hours. Start anti-clockwise: at 10 pm or 9 pm (which is just past) and recall your actions during the day that is just over. Think in the reverse direction. You will realise the mistakes you have made, knowingly or unknowingly. Call God, seek His guidance. Ask Him to forgive you; ask Him to help you to forgive yourself. Ask Him to help you become a better person tomorrow; ask Him for the gift of a more worthwhile life tomorrow.
