The father

A figure of a few lakh rupees flashed on the right-hand corner of the screen. This money was the sum of his savings accumulated over 30 years of drudgery. He moved the cursor over and clicked on transfer. The transaction was successful. He smiled.

With not a penny in his pocket, he walked into the street and looked at his house one last time, before handing over the keys to his only son.

He climbed into the van that would take him to the old age home and thought of the day his baby boy had held his finger for the first time.
