A clairvoyant means someone who can see things that normal people cannot see. For instance, it’s a well-known fact–I don’t know if you will call it fact or fiction but there are those who can see these things, the clairvoyants. They say that, in the human being, there is an aura surrounding the body that ordinarily one cannot see. Such clairvoyants are on record that if you watch a person chanting Gayatri Mantra, you can see a light come out of their heart; go through all the people who are sitting around and continue to go on, touching everyone, every human being for miles and miles away.
This is not merely because of the meaning of the mantra–the meaning is important of course–but the sound–the acoustics–all the mantras have been set to a certain rhythm, a certain pattern, a certain sound which has effects on one’s psyche and also on the outside world. So if you chant the mantra–the Gayatri Mantra–or any mantra regularly in its proper form, then it’s bound to have an effect within as well as without. It will do good to the outside world, it will also stimulate and open up your intellect.
I would say rather intelligence and not so much intellect, because your understanding of things inner and outer will grow and before long, you’ll discover that this entire world is pervaded by one Supreme, living, intelligent Being. It’s my personal opinion that chanting of the Gayatri in its proper tune or proper meter, slowly, quietly with complete attention brings about changes not only in one’s psyche which becomes sharp, alert, more intelligent and of course, spiritual in the end, it also increases one’s efficiency, but more about that later.
Continuous chanting of the Gayatri mantra under proper instructions brings about activation of some parts of one’s limbic system and connects to higher meditative states.
