I have Him

I have Him

"A rich man who was devoted to Rabia was, one day, found waiting outside her hut, shedding tears." - Dada JP Vaswani

A rich man who was devoted to Rabia was, one day, found waiting outside her hut, shedding tears.

Hasan, the dervish of God, who happened to pass by, asked the rich man, “Why are you standing here and weeping?”

The rich man answered, “Rabia has not enough to eat. I have brought her this purse of gold. I weep because I am not sure if she will be so good as to accept it. You, Hasan, are her friend. Won’t you plead in my behalf and induce the saint to accept my humble offering?”

Hasan spoke to Rabia. What was her answer? “The Beloved is the Lord of all that is!” she said. “He is the One Only Giver. He giveth to those who revile Him. Will He not provide for those who love Him? Ever since I have known Him, He has not once forsaken me. What shall I do with the gold which maketh men greedy? I have Him: and I need nothing else!”
