How to Live a Prosperous Life - Post by Dada J.P. Vaswani

Achieving Overall Prosperity

By adopting an attitude of abundance and recognising the blessings in our lives, we can transform our mindset and lead a prosperous life.

Prosperity is a sense of contentment; a sense that there is abundance in my life; a sense that I have enough to share with others! Abundance, contentment, generosity! Being fulfilled, and being able to share your fulfillment with others – that is true prosperity.

‘Things’ are necessary, material comforts are necessary, so that human development can flower in terms of mind, body and soul. Therefore, I believe that there are four Aspects of Prosperity:

The First Aspect of Prosperity: MATERIAL PROSPERITY

Material wealth is essential to man’s well-being. It is one of the most sought after aspects of prosperity in this life. No one can deny that all of us need money for our survival in this world. But we can make money by honest means; put it to good use; and make ourselves and others happy by spending it wisely and well.

The Second Aspect of Prosperity: PHYSICAL WELL-BEING

The foundation of a healthy body is a loving, happy, peaceful mind. Life and its great gifts cannot be enjoyed until and unless one has a healthy body and an alert mind. I, for one, firmly believe in the holistic concept of health – the well-being of body, mind and spirit go together.

The Third Aspect of Prosperity: EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

Count your blessings! And you will be filled with hope, optimism and faith that will help you face the challenges of life! When you become aware of the ‘abundance’ in your own life; your attitude will change; your emotions will regain their lost balance and you will be prepared to face ‘lean’ and ‘dark’ days with a more positive and constructive attitude!

The Fourth Aspect of Prosperity: SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT

Aware of the divine within you, you begin to recognise and respect the divinity in others, and your consciousness expands; you become more understanding, more tolerant, more loving and forgiving, more magnanimous – in short, more divine than human!

We live in a world of abundance that God has created, and He has given us enough and more to meet all our needs and to share with those who need them more than we do! Prosperity, then, is not just having lots of money. It is about an attitude, a mindset, that thinks in terms of abundance, instead of lack and want. Change your attitude, and you can change your life!
