“Cowards die many deaths,” goes the proverb. “The brave die but once.” True it is that each of us has only one life—but how many of us ‘die a thousand deaths’ in fear and nervousness!

Freedom from fear is achieved through perseverance, tenacity and sheer willpower. Have you heard about the teacher who asked the smartest boy in class, “Tell me Hari, what is the difference between perseverance and obstinacy?”

The clever lad replied, “One is a strong will, and the other is a strong won’t.”

Only they can conquer fear, who have willed themselves to do so! Only they can conquer fear, who have willed themselves to do so!

We must never underestimate mind-power, the power of the will. Freedom from fear—as well as health, happiness and harmony—depend in thought-habits. Truly has it been said that even happiness is the product of habitual right-thinking.

Try and imagine a huge slab of ice one-and-a-half miles square, and 92 million miles high. It would reach from the earth to the sun.

Scientists tell us that this gigantic cake of ice would be completely melted in 30 seconds—if the full power of the sun were focussed upon it.

Mental sunshine is equally powerful! When you have the will to be free of fear, the sunshine of your faith and confidence will melt the ice of insecurity and dread.

Mental sunshine will cause the flowers of peace and joy and serenity to bloom wherever you go! Therefore, cultivate the will to be unafraid—create your own mental sunshine!
