What is actual success in life?

What success tastes like

As we mature in life, every time we see a dream, we also realise that it would not just be hard work or intelligence that would lead to success but the external factors play an important role too.

Have your ever dreamt of something big in life and felt that all of you is driven to achieve that? What if there are lots of challenges in your path that are both at personal and external levels?

For those who have experienced this before, would know that their zeal to live that dream surpasses all the setbacks they have. In the continual process of experiments and failure, they are able to better understand the challenges which others face. They are also able to realise the role that situation and circumstances play in determining success.

And what happens when you finally achieve your dream? A sense of fulfilment, relief, satisfaction often accompanied by a sense of gratitude. The bigger the dream and the more lasting its impact is, the more the satisfying it is. For a student who has cracked a competitive exam or a professional who has got a very good job, success can change their life forever.

But what happens after that? Life goes on and there are new dreams that we see. As we mature in life, every time we see a dream, we also realise that it would not just be hard work or intelligence that would lead to success but the external factors play an important role too. For your next job, the network you have, the location you are in and the stage of life you are in could play an important role.

Sometimes you are pressurised by the liabilities that you carry and are afraid of expressing yourself. For example, a monthly EMI or your frustration with failure could make you nervous in an interview. Didn’t our teachers and parents always tell us that working hard would lead to success? Then why does everyone not follow this mantra? Probably because they have seen enough cases around them where this is not the case.

This brings us to an important question. Is there a world where the external environment favours meritocracy? Where people do not work for earning a living, but for living and expressing their passion? This is the golden age where there is abundance of everything. Be it food, clothing, accommodation

or any treasures, life offers more than you can imagine. This is a world where nature serves people and their time is spent in entertainment and innovation. This is the world where education is experiential and gaining economic independence is not even a consideration.

Rajyoga meditation creates this world for all of us by awakening the humanity inside us. A world where success is not few moments but a part of our life. A world where the sense of fulfilment, peace, satisfaction and gratitude is who you are. This is the golden age, the heaven, the Satyuga.
